How it is made
Hand-woven from Doum palm straw, this large natural rug features embroidered motifs in warm red and orange. Zigzag bands and small Berber geometric signs pace the surface with a rhythm that feels ordered yet alive. The field is sprinkled with diamonds, tiny squares and star-rosettes: talismanic symbols of balance and protection that read like a gentle, domestic sky. The hand is dry and beautifully tactile; on the reverse, the raw straw shows the weave. An unmistakable signature of true craftsmanship.
Perfect for…
In the living room this palm leaf rug brings lightness and character. You can also use it in an entrance hall or wide corridor as it’s durable and welcoming. Layer it over a flat neutral rug to add texture, or let it sit directly on oak or walnut, terracotta tiles, or warm stone floors for a quietly Mediterranean feel. It’s the right choice if you want a 100% natural, cruelty-free piece that’s practically hypoallergenic and wonderfully pet-friendly.
We also love it in a relaxed bohemian beach house, where its straw tones play with sea light and whitewashed walls.
The detail not to be missed
The impressive straw fringes along the long side, the slight undulation of the edge, the small variations in the yarns, and the straw backing with weft and warp visible: all those tiny, beautiful irregularities tell you it was skillfully made by hands.
