Azilal Rugs
The colorful Azilal rugs in short or long wool hand-knotted are distinguished by their asymmetrical designs in bright colors: a real feast for the eyes! They bear the name of the homonymous province located in the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco and like all Amazigh rugs (which, remember, means "free men") they are not made according to pre-established designs. On a white or colored natural wool canvas, geometric patterns and abstract figures are drawn that remind us of traditional symbols or representations of natural elements. Sometimes the craftswoman inserts colored wool, cotton and recycled fabric threads.
