we are Jihane and Matteo. Since 2021, with Casa Amar, we have been working every day with Amazigh and Moroccan artisans. We collaborate, experiment, and learn with them.
Over the years, artists and photographers have started knocking on our door: some to weave a work of art, others to tell stories of places, gestures, and people through images. From these encounters, the Casa Amar Artistic Residencies were born.
The Salé atelier is not a gallery. It is a living place where wool is worked and pigments are tested.

The residence
Living and working in the Salé Atelier
In our workshop in Salé, near Rabat, we work every day. This is where the wool arrives, is dyed, tested, and knotted. The residency allows you to immerse yourself in this world, learn, and experiment with the support of the artisans.

PROJECTS WITH COOPERATIVES
Textile artworks, capsule collections, and one-of-a-kind pieces
We work with women's cooperatives and independent artisans whom we have known for years. When artists, designers, or creative studios bring an idea, we build the process together. This can lead to artist rugs, small limited editions, or artifacts for exhibitions, cultural spaces, and installations.
