In the collective imagination, the mat could be perceived as the African ethnic carpet par excellence. Its ancient, almost primitive charm makes us think of artifacts of ancestral origin, of tribal carpets marked by mysterious and archaic symbols. And it is precisely for these reasons that, with our research work, we also try to preserve an artisan tradition that we care a lot about. It is part of all of us, of our origins, of our history. And not only that. The plant materials used for the production of these natural carpets are a perfect choice for dreamers and travelers like us: for those who love to surround themselves with plants, bring nature into the home, and smell the scent of distant lands.

Let's not forget that the 100% straw, Doum and wood mats are vegan and cruelty free. The versions with leather and wool inserts are also eco-friendly, as they use recycled materials and leftovers. In addition, the Hassira and Sahariane are hairless, therefore practically hypoallergenic and also suitable for those who have animals at home and want an "anti-hair" solution. As if that were not enough, they are completely recyclable and sustainable.

In this collection you will find mats from Morocco, the Sahara, and vintage Tuareg rugs found during our travels. You will also find handmade Hassira mats, created by the talented women of the rural areas around Khmisset. By now the average age of the "Hassirate" master craftswomen is quite high and there is no generational change capable of carrying on the artisanal production. For this reason each piece is a truly rare and one-of-a-kind home accessory.
