Hassira Vintage Mat 2.4*1.6 m

These extremely original mats, called “Hassira” in Morocco, are made from straw
obtained from palm leaves, carefully separated and dried then subsequently woven and embellished with colored wool threads.

They are created in the rural areas around Khmisset, where the artisans have impressive talent. Processing is difficult and requires great manual skill. Now the average age of the expert craftsmen of "Hassirate" is around 50-60 years and there is no turnover
generational. Therefore these fascinating mats are increasingly rare.

They are easily cleaned with a broom or brush. If you need to clean a specific stain, you can use a sponge moistened with cold or lukewarm water and soaked in a delicate detergent.
