Striped cushions and words filled with stories

These are not the usual scatter cushion covers for sofas and beds. These are not just striped cushions with embroidered words. This is a collection brought to life by many stories. Stories of women.

Thanks to the research of Sabina Maffei Plozner and Casa Amar, vintage wool blankets from the High Atlas are reborn, combined with fabrics sourced in Milan. Between the lines of these Moroccan artisan blankets lie stories of women. Between those same lines, the hands of other women have embroidered words: each one unique, each one carrying a special meaning in a single language in the world.

All of them speak a universal language of love and beauty.

And then a new slang – mysterious for many – comes to life in the “Not a Boomer cushion” capsule, curated by young Costanza Marin and dedicated to teenagers.

Unique, fair, sewn and embroidered in Milan

All embroidered cushion covers are one-of-a-kind pieces, handmade by the seamstresses of charity Cooperativa Alice.

Since it was founded in 1992, Alice has been committed to building an inclusive society that puts former inmates back at the centre and supports sustainable development through craftsmanship and ethical supply chains.

The worker-members of Cooperativa Alice, in the women’s sections (and not only) of Lombardy’s prisons, learn a trade, help preserve and spread Italian know-how and, through work, are able to take back a positive role in society.

Thanks to its daily commitment, the Cooperative has enabled more than 450 marginalised women to achieve economic independence.

Words that open up new worlds

Did you know that in Inuit there is a single word to describe the philosophy that there’s no point worrying about things we cannot change? That word is Ayurnamat.

In Korean there is a word for the ability of the one we love to understand us and read our gestures and glances: Nunchi.

And in the Philippines they say Kilig to describe the butterflies in your stomach and the light-headed feeling you get when you fall in love.

Explore our statement cushion collection to discover the magic behind each meaning.

Do you speak Teen?

Do you have a bestie or a bro?
Do you like to flex?
Or are you a Boomer who’s not quite sure when to say “Totale!”?

If you’re looking for fun slogan cushion covers, “Not a Boomer cushion” is the capsule collection for you. It’s a tribute to Gen Z, created in collaboration with a super-creative teenager: a playful selection of expressions teens actually use.

Discover the words chosen by 14-year-old Costanza Marin and use them to win over the teens in your life – while adding a touch of irony to any space.

Vintage textiles meet new fabrics

Interior stylist Sabina Maffei Plozner has made it her mission to turn your home into your favourite place. She helps her clients feel good at home using colour, a thoughtful mix of vintage and new pieces, a lot of sensitivity and an unstoppable creativity.

Thanks to her talent, every cushion cover is the result of a one-of-a-kind match: between striped wool cut from vintage blankets and special fabrics or velvets – multicoloured, tartan or solid-colour – sourced in Milan. On top of that come little borders, playful piping details and coloured zips.

Every detail has been designed so that what you hold in your hands will be a piece that’s yours and yours alone. An accessory that will add character and personality to your living room, bedroom or kids’ room.
