Knotted wool
The rugs you will find on this page are completely hand-knotted using precise and elaborate ancestral techniques.
They are mainly made of sheep's wool, a renewable and exceptional natural material. Naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic, wool is also an excellent insulator from the cold. And in fact, traditionally, wool carpets have also been used as blankets and mattresses, precious allies in the mountainous regions where they were created.
The weight of the carpets varies depending on their density. It also changes according to the warp material: traditionally, it is wool. Cotton can sometimes be used for a lighter weight rug.
The pile can be more or less short or long, depending on the origin of the carpet and the preferences of the artisan. In all cases, our knotted rugs are wonderfully soft.
