How it is made
A traditional Moroccan handmade Kharita kilim (pile-free), this triangle-patterned rug is made of the finest sheep wool. The thread is dyed in beautifully deep and rich earthy colours. It features a surprisingly creative geometric design. The field is an all-over grid of triangles, symmetrical yet never static. So looking at it feels like admiring a poetic mountain range from above. Inside each triangle you'll spot signs and micro-motifs: lines, small stepped pyramids, and leaf-like traces that seem to be carried by the wind. This graphic repertoire is typical of Kharita pieces, so named because they resemble imaginative maps. The flat weave gives a clean, stable surface where the warm palette (rust red, ochre, sand) truly resonates. A slightly irregular selvage and fringes at the head on one side attest to its handloom origin.
Perfect for...
At 257 × 160 cm, it’s an ideal geometric living-room rug in front of a three-seater sofa. It also works beautifully as the main area rug, at the foot of the bed, or in a spacious home office (the flat weave plays well with caster-equipped chairs). The arrow-like sequence of triangles makes it a strong choice for a wide entrance hall or along the transition between living and dining, subtly guiding the perspective. Gorgeous on oak or walnut floors, terracotta tiles, or warm resin and cement-like surfaces. It also pairs effortlessly with travertine and natural stone.
The detail not to be missed
Take a closer look at the stylised mountain landscape: each peak is different. The streaks are reminiscent of sand and wind, the pyramids recall ancestral architecture, and the branches and leaves seem to set the surface in motion on a journey to distant lands.
